The GBC Graduate Formal and Teaching Excellence Awards Gala Saturday, 17 April 2010 01:22 “Does the night have to end?” I was asked three times when the lights turned on at 2AM. After eight short hours at the Liberty Grand, it felt like the party had only just begun. That’s right – EIGHT HOURS.
SteamWhistlin' Schuligans Monday, 09 November 2009 06:23 All-Hallows-Even: the scariest, funniest, sexiest, and most importantly, my favoritest holiday of the year. This day holds a special place in my heart not only because it is the best excuse to put on stupendous amounts of makeup, wear scandalous outfits, and simply behave like a Schuligan; but simply because on this single day of the year, anything and everything goes.
GBC Patio Nights Tuesday, 03 November 2009 07:51 A tradition in the making. The GBC started a weekly event this summer that showcased many of the GTA’s hottest venues. While patio/pub/club nights are not a novel idea, the mechanics of these events have changed significantly, and in turn, have attracted an eclectic mix of students, and have ultimately become a smashing success.
Olympia 2009 Tuesday, 03 November 2009 06:01 An event of Schulympic proportions! It was an event for the ages. A weekend long celebration that we will tell our children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren by the fireplace on Christmas Eve and Thanksgiving night for years to come; recounting the deep, joyful, and soulful moments we shared at Camp Olympia. Not quite – but it was definitely a weekend to remember.

Welcome to the beginning of an awesome (school) year

Schuligans

I just wanted to take this opportunity to inform you of some part-time-centric events that we have planned for you in the next month.

As part-time students tend to have a hectic work schedule on top of our studies, the GBC, CDC, and Student Services have planned events and workshops with the part-time student in mind.

Here are some events that may be of interest to part-time students:

Incoming Part-time Launch Week September 7 to 11

Olympia Fall Getaway Weekend September 24 to 26

The quintessential event of the fall, the Fall Getaway Weekend is an excellent opportunity to get to know our peers as well as to enjoy a weekend in the outdoors. Join us and meet some of your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year part-time peers!

Nadal and Part-time Launch Party Early October

We are excited to host the inaugural Nadal and Part-time student Launch Party to welcome our new students as well as to catch up with old friends. It is rumored that this event will be held on a boat cruise, and will be an excellent opportunity to meet other part-time students, peers from other professional networks, and as well as Schulich alumni and faculty! More information will be coming shortly!

The Part-timer / Social / Networking / Just for Fun DinnerBi-weekly throughout the year.

Last year, we started the tradition of hosting bi-weekly dinners where we invite 10-15 MBA students to join us at a different restaurant throughout the GTA. Since the inauguration of this tasty tradition, we have tried over 30 restaurants and have met countless new friends. This year, we intend to continue our delectable meetings beginning Friday, September 10! If you’d like to join our guestlist of diners, please do let me know.

Over the next year, you will receive periodic emails that will detail part-time-specific news, events, and interesting information including profiles of current part-time students, alumni, and faculty.

Please do contact me for:

-         Content suggestions (know a student or alumni should be profiled?)

-         Questions (601 info? Buddy info? Mentor info? Career info? Electives info?)

-         Social/networking events

-         To meet a really, really friendly, charming (at times), and spicey part-time MBA student

Cheers,

K
